CHAPTER 1. Every beginning tells a story

There’s something magical about beginnings, isn’t there?

A mix of excitement, anticipation, and the desire to start a new story.

Today, I myself am going back to where it all began to share something special with you: the story of La Cultivada.

You see, my “close friends” say that I can talk the hind leg off a donkey, indeed I’ll talk to anything standing… and even underwater.

I use quotation marks because with friends like this, who needs enemies… oh well.

I’ve always been intrigued by how some people use intimacy and trust to point out “what could be improved” in others, all in the name of so-called “constructive criticism.”

As if praise didn’t have the power to build us up…

I mean, how often do you hear something good after the dreaded phrase “Do you really want me to be honest?”

My defence, when called a chatterbox, is well, are you interested in what I have to say or not?

For the record, my favourite childhood book is Don Quixote. Not that I’m comparing myself (perish the thought!), but Cervantes certainly had a lot to talk about, and thank goodness no one cut him off.

As you can see, I’ve got plenty to say… be it talking or typing.

And differences aside with the Prince of Wit as Cervantes was known, this story is definitely worth a listen.

Will you lend me your ear?
