Continuing my story…
I had just come back to Spain after living in Brazil, and was reflecting on my new career path.
Following several years surrounded by exotic nature and artistic exuberance, I was now seeing my homeland as leathery bull’s hide…
I wanted to write, but I also needed to earn a living… and I couldn’t figure out how to balance creativity with paying the bills. Writing transported me to another galaxy where there were no expenses to worry about.
One summer night, I ran into Pedro at CASAICON.

Pedro’s from Seville, and I met him in New York when I was 22. He’s an incredible artist, deeply connected to a fascinating world that he brings to life in his work.
And I’m not the only one to say so: Pedro’s work is in top museums and private collections around the world.
Pedro is constant, never faltering in his calling. He has his own unique language that doesn’t kowtow to passing fads.
He lives in a magical house that was saved from ruin and neglect, which I’ve already told you about: CASAICON.
Pedro generously got behind this project, brought his sensitivity and skill to it, and drew the owl.
There could not have been a better place in the world for this traveling bird to open its eyes than this factory of dreams.
It was the start of a beautiful dream.
