There I was at La F\u00e1brica, on the brink of the dream world, when a bird appeared\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

An owl,<\/span><\/b> to be precise<\/span>.<\/p>\n

And since I\u2019m on the original side, I called her<\/span> Noctua<\/b><\/i> so as to use a little Latin (the mother of my native tongue).<\/span><\/p>\n

Not for nothing did I study it way back in school (you can tell I\u2019m no Gen Zer).<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, with<\/span> Noctua<\/b><\/i> I was referring to the Night, to the nocturnal bird.<\/span><\/p>\n

It then became <\/span>Nochuza<\/span><\/i>, and last of all <\/span>Lechuza<\/i><\/span> \u2013 which (in Spanish at least) sounds more like a lactose-free drink than anything else\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

But what I really wanted was to write a story with this owl in the leading role: a story full of helpful hints for curious children who ask questions that no one knows how to answer\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

But going back to what brings us here \u2013 namely olive oil \u2013 it was in fact common to find these mysterious birds with their heads lowered into the old clay amphorae,<\/span> drinking up the oil inside.<\/b><\/p>\n

So much so that their big, round eyes turned green,<\/span> to better see our hearts!<\/b><\/p>\n

And so, in following that dream, we come to where the true origin of La Cultivada lies: in a Story<\/span><\/b>, and not just olive oil!<\/span><\/p>\n

I was at La F\u00e1brica, half-asleep, half-dreaming\u2026 when a bird appeared. An owl, to be exact. And since I\u2019m nothing if not original (by birthright), I named it Noctua \u2014because why not throw in some Latin (our language\u2019s mother, after all)? Also, because I actually studied Latin back in school (which, as you can tell, means I\u2019m definitely not Gen Z). So Noctua it was\u2014meaning night, the nocturnal bird.
